Mary Derkach Boccia, age 95, of Beaver and formerly of Churchton, Maryland, passed away on Friday, August 2, 2024 at Beaver, West Virginia.
Mary was born October 08, 1928 in New Britain, Connecticut, a daughter of the late Michael and Katherine (Spunt) Derkach. She married the love of her life, the late Michael Boccia on February 3, 1951 at St. Mary's Church.
Mary was the middle child of 5 daughters and she is preceded in death by her sisters, Mrs. Helen Moisuk, Mrs. Anne Marsh, and Mrs. Stasia Taricani.
Mary is survived by her son Michael Boccia; daughter Nancy B. Harrell and her husband David of Meadow Bridge; grandchildren Stephen Lapkoff, David Lapkoff and his wife Kara; step-grandchildren Bethany Baldi and her husband Vinny, Melanie Harrell and her husband Austin Garrett; sister Mrs. Julie Aparo; and many extended family and friends who will miss her.
Mary, in her younger years, loved to go 10 Pin Bowling, playing the lottery and bingo. She enjoyed working in her yard, talking to her neighbors, and playing with her shelties.
There will be no services in West Virginia. A memorial service will be held in her honor at a later date in Maryland. She will be laid to rest at the Crownsville Veterans Cemetery with her late husband Michael Raymond Boccia at 1122 Sunrise Beach Road, Crownsville, Maryland 21032.
