Melinda Kay Bennett, age 51, of Oak Hill, West Virginia, passed away on Monday, January 12, 2026 at Raleigh General Hospital in Beckley, West Virginia.

Melinda was born on November 11, 1974 in Columbus, Georgia, a daughter of Oakley and Linda Lou McIe. Melinda had a servant's heart always caring for others even in her career as a caregiver in home health. Melinda enjoyed spending time with her fur babies, and enjoyed watching cartoons on tv as well. Above all she enjoyed spending time with her family.

Melinda is preceded in death by her step-father Ronnie Carpenter.

Those left to cherish and hold Melinda's memory are her mother, Linda Carpenter of Oak Hill, WV, her father Oakley Bennett of Pipestem, WV, brother, Bobby Bennett (Karen Lilly-Bennett) of Bradley, WV, half brother John Bennett of Arizona, three step-brothers, Ronnie Jr, Robert, and Paul Carpenter, and many other extended family and friends who will all miss Melinda dearly.
