Melody Jane Brown

Melody Jane "Janie" Brown went to be with the Lord on November 4, 2023. Janie was born on January 6th, 1961 in Beckley, West Virginia to Eileen Brown and the late Tommy L Brown. She graduated from the Woodrow Wilson High School Class of 1979. She had a career in food service in Winston Salem, NC working for Kroger, Harris Teeter, and Lowes Foods before coming back home to care for her mother for four years. She loved dogs, sunflowers, and the outdoors. She is survived by her mother Eileen Brown, brothers Alan Brown, Gregory(Marla) Brown, and Stephen(Gail) Brown, nieces, and nephews Jason(Katie) Brown and their daughter Audrey, Melissa(Steven) Bahm and their daughters Chloe, Raegan, and Abigail, Breanna Brown, Benjamin, and Zachary Brown, Michael, and Madision, and several cousins, extended family and friends who will all miss her dearly. A memorial service will be held by the family at a later time. Expressions of sympathy can be made in Janie's memory to the Doug and Lucy Bowers Hospice House, a place Janie said was "Heaven". The family would like to offer special thanks to the staff and doctors of Hospice of Southern WV, for all of their care, and compassion. Cremation Arrangements have been entrusted to Melton Mortuary and Cremation Center in Beckley, West Virginia, who are honored to be able to serve the family during this difficult time.
