Michael Shawn Horton

Michael Shawn (Mike) Horton 42, of Beckley WV went to be with the Lord on Sunday, June 21st, 2020 following a long illness.

Born December 29th, 1977 in Beckley he is the son of Bill Horton and Patty Clyburn both of Beckley.

Mike is of the Pentecostal faith and enjoyed playing guitar and riding 4 wheelers. He was a former employee of Charlie Earehart Dodge in Beckley.  

Michael is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents James Ballard Sr. and wife Betty, paternal grandparents, Thurman Horton and wife Virvia, one sister, Crystal Lynn Horton, one brother, Stephen Ray Horton, two uncles, James Dennis Ballard Jr., and Carl Phillip Ballard, and one cousin Michael Ballard.

Besides his parents he is survived by two brothers, Mark Ballard and wife Shelly of Beckley, Robert Horton and Brenda Johnson of Coal City, sister-in-law Lisa Horton of Beckley,  two aunts, JoAnne Pack of Denver, NC and Daisy Mullins and husband Charles of Beckley, three nephews, Corey Cheek and wife Karyssa of Crab Orchard, and Trey Horton of Beckley, and David Allen Milam Jr. of Beckley, one niece, Monica Ballard and Jason Terrell of Beckley, one great-nephew, Chace Lee Cheek of Crab Orchard, two great-nieces, Macie Brook Cheek of Crab Orchard, and Mackenzie Legend Terrell of Beckley, a special friend of many years and numerous cousins also survive.

Funeral services will be held at 1 P.M. on Thursday, June 25th, 2020 at the Melton Mortuary Chapel in Beckley with Pastor Robert Ayers Sr. officiating. Friends may call from 12 noon until time of service on Thursday. Burial will follow in the Sunset Memorial Park.
