Obituary
Miriam Eileen Wriston, age 82, of Beckley, West Virginia, passed away Monday, April 17, 2023 at Raleigh General Hospital in Beckley, West Virginia. Miriam was born August 27, 1940 in Farrandsville, Pennsylvania, a daughter of Roy and Pearl Simcox.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 38 years, Barney Wriston, a brother Roy Simcox Jr., who died in World War II, three sisters, Lois, Thelma and Martha.
Survivors include a sister Rosemary Bachman of PA, and many nieces and nephews. Also two special friends, Sue Stover and Laurie Keller of Beckley.
She was a faithful member of the Beckley Regular Baptist Church. Mrs. Wriston enjoyed the outdoors and going on white water rafting trips. She enjoyed traveling throughout the U.S and other countries. She was an accomplished pianist. Miriam also worked for several accounting firms in the Beckley area, and retired from the IRS in 1997.
Visitation will be Friday, April 21st, 2023 from 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM at the funeral home. Funeral Service will be held Friday, April 21, 2023, 1:00 PM at Melton Mortuary Chapel with Pastor Ken Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens in Beckley.
