Mylenda Jane Shrewsberry (September 30, 1979 - April 3, 2025)


Mylenda Jane Shrewsberry, a loving daughter, sister, aunt, neice and friend, passed away on Thursday, April 3, 2025, at the age of 45, surrounded by her family. Born in Beckley, West Virginia, Mylenda was the daughter of Paul Shrewsberry Jr. and Helen Jean Shrewsberry.


Mylenda's love for her family knew no bounds, especially when it came to her nieces and nephews. She also cherished her furry companions, Annabelle and Cleo, whom she affectionately called her "babies."


Mylenda is survived by her mother, Helen; siblings, Paul Foley Jr. and Paula Swearengin-Cowie; sister-in-law, Jennifer Foley; brother-in-law, Peter Cowie; nieces and nephews, Savanna, Thomas, Logan, Avery, Taylor, Isaiah, Jada, Adlai and Charlotte; and great-nieces and great-nephews, Summer, Shane, Benji, and Vallyn. Nieces-in-law Cailee and Miranda.


She was preceded in death by her father, Paul Shrewsberry Jr., and sister, Geneva Sizemore.

A gathering of family and friends celebrating Mylenda's life will be held at Pineville Southern Baptist Church, 10 Daumer Park Pineville, WV 24874 on Saturday, April 19, 2025, at 2:00 pm, with Bradley McKinney officiating.


In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Soaring Hope Animal Rescue, PO Box 862 Coal City, WV 25823 in honor of Mylenda's love for animals, especially her beloved cats, Annabelle and Cleo.
