Nelda Mae Lehman

Nelda Mae (Bennett) Lehman was born on March 11, 1944 in Layland, WV to her parents Roy W. and Leota Mae (Thompson) Bennett. She went home to be with our Lord on April 17, 2023 in Quinton, VA at the age of 79.

Mrs. Lehman is preceded in death by her late husband of 56 years, Orville Watson Lehman; parents, Roy W. and Leota Mae Bennett; sisters, Bonnie Bennett and Darlene Diane Crosley; and her very special uncle, Kenneth Thompson

She leaves behind to cherish her memory her children Mona Laury (spouse Lee) and Myra Waterfield; grandchildren Sara Ehemann (spouse Patrick) and Camille Franzel; great-grandchildren Owen, Loralee, and Maya; and many extended family and friends who will dearly miss her.

Nelda pursued many hobbies and was an avid reader. She volunteered for various causes over her lifetime and was a member of the Red Hat Society. In later life, she became passionate about genealogy which led her to a previously undiscovered family cemetery which is where she will be buried.

Graveside service will be held on Tuesday, April 25th, 2023 at 1:45 pm at the Harrah Cemetery, Backus Mountain Rd., Meadow Bridge, WV. A private family viewing will be from 11 am - 1 pm at the Melton Mortuary Chapel. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association at www.heart.org in memory of Mrs. Lehman.
