Norma Ilene Hamilton went home to be with the Lord on August 13, 2024. She was a 1950 graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School in Beckley, West Virginia. She lived her young adult life in Beckley and Bluefield. After her retirement from a career at Bluefield College, she moved to Deland, Florida where she enjoyed working at the YMCA and spending time with her daughter Kay and her family.

Ilene was raised at First Baptist Church in Beckley, where she accepted the Lord Jesus as her savior. She was always active in church, especially in church choirs. She also served at First Baptist Church in Bluefield and Stetson Baptist Church in Deland, Florida, where she was a member. She was a kind, compassionate, and generous person who always lived for others. She was loved by all who knew her, especially her family. Her grandchildren and many others affectionately called her "Mimi."

She was preceded in death by her parents, George C. (Spotsy) Porter and Thelma Porter, her sister Jean Nutter, her husband Robert F. Hamilton, her daughter Frances Ilene Snuffer, and her great-granddaughter, Hannah Snuffer.

She is survived by two children - Robert Hamilton and Kay Mustard-Lange, eight grandchildren - Ryan Snuffer, Amanda Richmond, Kelly Bailey, Sandra Carter, Barbara Necessary, Joseph Hamilton, Alex Mustard, and Savannah Mustard. She is also survived by fourteen beloved great-grandchildren and one great, great grandchild; as well as two nieces, Becky Nutter and Janice Anderson.
