Olen Jeffrey Williams 'OJ', 45, of Beckley, formerly of Coal City, WV went to be with our Lord on Monday, December 2, 2024 at his home in Clear Creek.

OJ was born on April 11, 1979 in Beckley, West Virginia, a son of Jeffrey Olen Williams and Oma Denise Brown Achen.

OJ spent many of his younger years growing up with his grandma, Dorothy Wills in Coal City. He was a 1998 graduate of Independence High School where he excelled at football, writing poetry, and singing in the Choir and talent shows. OJ was an avid Garth Brooks fan who could sing his music just as Garth would. He had once won a trip to the Bahamas with his favorite grandma by singing his favorite Garth Brooks music.

After high school, OJ enlisted with the US Army and toured S. Korea. He loved the outdoors and always felt at home in the woods nearest his home. He was most happy when he was able to spend time with his friends and family.

OJ is survived by his 14 yr old son, Ethan Samual Garten of NC whom he was most proud of and loved so very much; parents Jeff Williams and Oma Achen both of WV; grandmother Dorothy Wills; brothers Brad Williams and Andy Cozart whom he loved very much; and many extended family and friends who will miss him.
OJ is preceded in death by his paternal grandpa Emory Olen Williams and his wife Edith and his maternal grandparents Bacon and Bertie Brown.
