Ollie May Billups McMillion 92 of Fairdale and Vass Branch completed her journey of life on August 21st, 2024 surrounded by friends and family. She climbed a mountain filled with many obstacles, tears of joy, grief, disappointments, and dreams. She made it and did it her way. Along the way she met and was blessed with many friends she dearly loved and cherished. Too many to list but they all knew and felt her love.

She was blessed and given three daughters on this road. Edna O Wood of Virginia who gave her 2 granddaughters, Lisa W. Poff(Jeff) of Virginia, and Kristin W. Jones(Kevin) of Georgia, four great-grandchildren, and one great grandchild, Brenda O Altizer(Doug) both who have predeceased her gave her one granddaughter April Lester(Bud) of Virginia, one still born grandson, two great granddaughters, one great grandson, four great great grand kids. Last her beloved Sheila McMillion Arthur( Douglas "Bo") who gave her one granddaughter Sarita Claypool (Huntington), grandson Dakota Claypool( Rebecca Lesata) of Beckley, and three grand-kids.

She loved her family very much, enjoyed her pet guineas, dogs, and cats, gardening, flowers, and traveling and spending her days with her daughters and family. She was not just a strong woman; she was a best friend, strong shoulder to lean on, a wise mother and life teacher. Being a wise woman she said "Don't grieve for me. I'm no longer in pain or sad. I lead the way of righteousness, not a path of judgment. Miss me but don't cry for me. My soul is free. Remember the love and laughter we shared, but let me go on my new journey."

The family would like to offer special thanks to Kay Duguid(Jim), Bob Young, Lisa Vass(Tommy), Karen Richard(Dale), Carol Daniel, and to the staff at Hospice of Southern West Virginia.

A celebration of life will take place for Ollie on Saturday August 31, 2024 at 1:00pm in the Melton Mortuary Chapel. The family will receive friends two hours prior at 11:00am. Arrangements entrusted to Melton Mortuary and Cremation Center who are honored to serve the family during this difficult time.
