Owen J. Weldon
On Wednesday June 4, 2025, Owen J "OJ" Weldon passed away at his home at 74 years of age.

OJ was a long time professional engineer at Appalachian Power, spending time working in both the Beckley and Bluefield offices. With an interest in golf, OJ spent many hours in his bright blue golf cart on the links at Glade Springs with his golf group, The Grasshoppers. He enjoyed spending winters at The Villages in Florida. He was an avid WVU fan and enjoyed watching football and basketballs games while listening to Tony Caridi on the radio.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Owen L. and Joann Weldon and; sister, Joan Weldon.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 47 years Celia of Daniels; daughter, Kathleen Searles (Alan) and granddaughter Norah of South Charleston; sisters, Debby Bradley of Atlanta, GA and Denise Byrne of Greer, SC; niece, Julie Stewart (Shane) of Atlanta, GA, and host of cousins.
OJ will be greatly missed by family and friends.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, June 9th, at 11:00 am in St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church. OJ will lie in repose from the hours of 2 to 4:00pm in the Melton Mortuary Chapel on Sunday, June 8th, where his family will be receiving friends.
