Pamela Kay (Garten) Paschal Obituary

Pamela Kay Garten (Paschal), lovingly known as Pam or Pammy K, age 54, of Sophia, West Virginia, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 3, 2026, surrounded by her family after a sudden illness.

Pam was born on August 17, 1971, in Beckley, West Virginia. She was a 1989 graduate of Independence High School and later attended Beckley Beauty School, graduating in the early 1990s. Pam proudly worked as a hairdresser for many years, a career she enjoyed until her health no longer allowed her to continue.

The beach was Pam's happy place. Anyone that visited her home could see her love for the ocean from her beach-themed décor. Pam also enjoyed shopping, dining out, and, most of all, spending time with her grandchildren whenever she was able. She enjoyed good gossip (especially with Stephanie), a good argument (especially with Walter), and adored her little dog and sidekick, Mr. B. Pam also shared a special bond with her good friend Chip, who lovingly cared for Mr. B and will continue to do so.

She was proceeded in death by her father, Billy Ray Garten Sr; her brother, Billy Ray Garten Jr; and two grandsons, Knoxley and Kacyn Allen.

Those left to cherish her memory and miss her sass, smile, and big personality include her mother, Margie (Noel) Neal; daughter, Katlyn (Ricky) Allen; grandsons, Kadyn, Krews, and Kreedence Allen; granddaughters, Raigyn, Rivaleigh, and Rinley Allen; beloved dog, Mr. B; special love, Walter Farris Sr; lifelong friend, Ronnie Prince; caregiver and best friend, Stephanie Martin; and dear friend Chip. She is also survived by many special uncles, aunts, cousins, and friends.

The family would like to give a huge thank-you to Stephanie for loving Pam, caring for her, laughing with her, and putting up with her this past year - a job that deserves both a medal and a vacation.

Pam's personal wishes were to be cremated and her ashes spread at the beach this summer - right where she always wanted to be. There will be no public services- only sunshine and waves.
