Patricia Joyce Bailey Obituary

Patricia Joyce Bailey, 87, of Fairdale, West Virginia, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, March 12, 2026, following a long illness.

Born to the late Grover and Jesse Herron, Patricia lived a life centered around her faith, her family, and serving others. She was a faithful member of Coal Marsh Missionary Baptist Church, where she sang in the choir and was active in the ladies' circle. Patricia also gave 25 years of service as a volunteer at Raleigh General Hospital, where her kindness and caring spirit touched many lives.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 34 years, Omer Bailey; her brother and sister-in-law, Bob and Carol Herron; her brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Vernon and Sandra Bailey; her brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Dave and Shelby Jean Ables; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, William and Hallie Bailey; and her nephew, Jim Bailey.
Those left to cherish her memory include her three children, Keith (Judy) Bailey of Fairdale, Cindy (Steve) Webb of Arnett, and Debbie King (Barry) of Beckley. She also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren, Tyler (Cassie) Webb, Jessica (Joey) Shea, Kyle (Chelsi) Webb, Jeremy (Tara) King, Mark (Stacy) McGhee, and Jennifer Trent.
Her love and legacy continue through her great-grandchildren, Laken and Reed Webb; Micah and McKenzie Shea; KJ, Brock, and Ansli Webb; Kaylee and Brayden King; Noah Trent (Kenzie); Alyssa McGhee; Nikolas (Chandra) Trent; and Adam (Emma) McGhee; and her great-great-grandchildren, Braxton and Brentley Trent and Brooks McGhee.
She is also survived by her uncle, Buddy (Ruth) Herron of Columbus, Ohio, along with several nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family would like to extend special thanks to her caregivers, Erica Lively, Stephanie Spence, Carmela Akers, Amanda Lusk, and Jessica Robey, for the love, compassion, and care they provided.
Patricia will be remembered for the love she had for her family, her strong faith in the Lord, and the joy she found in bringing people together. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Each night before going to bed, Pat would recite a poem inspired by Psalm 91:11: 'Angels watch me through the night and wake me to the morning light.' Today her family finds comfort in knowing the angels she spoke of so often have guided her safely into the presence of the Lord.
Friends may visit with the family on Sunday, March 15, 2026, at Melton Mortuary Chapel, Beckley, from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. Funeral services will begin at 2:00 p.m., with burial to follow at Sunset Memorial Park.
