Patricia "Pat" Mae Garris, 85, of Sophia, West Virginia passed away after a long battle with illness.
Pat was born to Clacy and Zola Cook in Sophia, WV on December 14th, 1940.

Pat graduated from Sophia High School in 1958 and was a Jitterbug Queen, spending much of her time after school at the "Riv". She married her Sailor, and love of her life, Lawrence Garris and began the wonderful adventure of life together.

Soon after their marriage, Pat and Lawrence moved to Chicago, IL to start their family and careers. That is where Pat started to work at Bell and Howell, The Warner Candy Company, Klingberg School for the Gifted, and her favorite job: Calo Ristorante, one of Chicago's most esteemed italian restaurants. Working at Calo's gave her the opportunity to meet many local celebrities and professional athletes, including "Mr. Cub", Ernie Banks, himself who regularly frequented the restaurant and always asked for Pat's area.

Pat and Lawrence raised three children and made a comfortable life for themselves in the city. However, no matter how much time they spent away, their hearts were always in West Virginia. They finally made their way home to Sophia after retiring in 1989.

After returning home, Pat opened a floral shop in Sophia and was a very skilled artist and designer. She loved housekeeping, and maintained a beautiful home to build many happy memories in with those she loved.

Pat enjoyed fishing and camping, BINGO, gardening, cooking, flea markets, a good hard laugh, and big country meals.

Pat will be reunited with her loving husband, Lawrence and oldest son, Lawrence "LC" Garris.

Pat leaves behind to cherish her memory her daughter, Tammy Garris; son, John Garris; beloved granddaughter, Cheyenne (Edmond Dalton) Garris; great-grandbabies, Elijah and Olivia Dalton.
