Patty "Pattykake" Schwartz, 72, of Daniels, West Virginia, passed away on August 19, 2025, surrounded by love in the place she called home.

Born on September 11, 1952, in Beckley, West Virginia, Patty lived a vibrant and colorful life that touched the hearts of all who knew her. A small-town girl with a free spirit, Patty embraced life with open arms and an open heart. She was known for her deep love of music-especially the sounds of the Grateful Dead, The Beatles, and songs like "Sugar Magnolia" and "Fire on the Mountain." These melodies were more than just tunes to her; they were the soundtrack to a life lived with passion and authenticity. Patty's creativity knew no bounds. She found joy in tie-dyeing and making jewelry-crafts that reflected her bright personality and love for color. Her fondness for sunflowers mirrored her sunny disposition and enduring optimism. She believed fiercely in peace and love and stood firmly against division of any kind. Her heart was as expansive as her imagination, always welcoming others with warmth and kindness. Family was at the center of Patty's world.

She is lovingly remembered by her children: Freedom Fortune, Mikeal Hawkins, and Amber Cook; daughters-in-law Karmella Wynne and Angel Hawkins; grandchildren Heaven, Hayden, Hendrix, Maddie, Trey, Elizabeth, Kadence, Josiah, and Freedom Kruz; sister Kathy Dove; brothers Bobby, and Jeff; nieces Kimberly Dove and Angela; great-nieces Katie, Allison, and Audrey; and her cherished "mommy Norma," Norma Robinson. Her significant other Jerome Robinson stood by her side through life's many chapters.

Patty was preceded in death by her father Charles Schwartz and mother Reva Sydnor. Among her many joys in life was being a devoted fan of Keanu Reeves, a wish to meet him remained one of her most heartfelt dreams. But perhaps what defined Patty most was her unwavering love for those around her. Whether family or friend, she gave freely of herself with a heart of gold.

A celebration of Patty's life will be held at a later date to honor the beautiful legacy she leaves behind.
