Peggy Ann McGlothlin (Miller) passed away peacefully following a short illness on March 7, 2023 surrounded by family.
Peggy graduated from Mullens High School in 1954. Following graduation, Peggy married her high school sweetheart James Clifford McGlothlin in 1955. Soon after they welcomed two sons, James Clifford Jr. and David Wayne McGlothlin.
Peggy lived a fulfilled life as a homemaker. She was commonly known as the second mother to more than a handful of the neighborhood kids. She loved doting on those she cherished and her biscuits and gravy breakfasts are some to be remembered for a lifetime. Peggy never knew a stranger a day in her life and flourished in crowded rooms donning her high heels and various costume jewelry. Peggy was a proud member of First Baptist Church of Beckley.
Those left to cherish her memories and spread their best Peggy stories are her sons Cliff (Marti) and David (Tammy), her grandchildren Holly (Travis) Redden, Dustin (Pamela) McGlothlin, and Cassie (Brandon) Angel and her great grandchildren Addison, Greyson, Triona and Taylor. Peggy has a host of friends and “extra kids” Jeff, Jennifer, Joe, Jimmy, Timmy, Reggie, Richard, Curtis, Scott, Don and many more who will also remember her for all of their days.
Peggy had explicit instructions to the family to forego funeral services. As a thank you for their generosity in Peggy’s final days donations may be made to Bower’s Hospice House in her memory. The family would like to extend a special thank you to a couple of Peggy’s “extra kids”, Joe and Jeannie Reynolds, for their immense love and support.
