Peggy “Sassy” Carter Holliday

Peggy “Sassy” Carter Holliday of Beckley, passed away peacefully on March 16, 2020 at Hilltop Center in Hilltop, West Virginia

Peggy was born February 21, 1938, to the late Glen Carter and Pauline Floyd Rand.  She was a 1956 graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School and a member of the Joyful Life Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband John L. Holliday; son, Alan Jay Holliday; brother, Jerry Carter; step-father Dr. Kenneth Rand and step-sister, Carolyn Boggs.

She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Kathy Rae Holliday, grandsons, Alan Jay Holliday II (Jillian), Michael Holliday; great grandsons, Grayson, Tyler, all of Beckley; Uncle James Floyd of Bradley, and Step-sister Kyra Pease (Donn) of Paulden, AZ; and her Joyful Life Church family of Beckley.

A very Special Thank You to the staff at Hilltop Center for their compassionate and loving care.

A Memorial Service will be held Thursday March 19, 2020 at 1 Pm in the Chapel at Melton Mortuary, 1200 Harper Road, Beckley, with Dr. Phillip Smith officiating.
