Phyllis Gwinn Gross 62, of Sophia, West Virginia, passed away on Friday March 10th, 2023.
She was born in Beckley, West Virginia on April 22nd, 1960, a daughter of the late William Edward Asbury, and Donna Marie Holstein Asbury.
In addition to her parents Phyllis is also preceded in death by her husband of 30 years Calvin Gross, brothers Gary Asbury, and Charles Asbury, and sister Bonnie Meador.
Those left behind to forever hold and cherish her memory include her daughters Carmella(Harry) Rhodes of Sophia, and Priscilla(Monti)Gross of Princeton, brothers Roger(Stella) Asbury of Beckley, and Jackie(Debbie) Asbury of Slab Fork, sisters Carol Lilly of Slab Fork, and Lawanda "Bunny" Cooper of Sophia, WV, and granddaughter Alexis "Lexie" Urciolo of Sophia.
Phyllis was a homemaker always taking care of her family and trying to make any mountain they had to climb in life easier. She loved the outdoors always enjoying God's beauty in nature by fishing, gardening, and having picnics. One of the most memorable experiences her family remembers is that she used to make homemade vanilla ice cream. She truly loved her family and will be missed by all who knew her.
