Mrs. Rachel JoAnn Kerns, age 58, of Daniels, West Virginia, lost her valiant battle with cancer on Tuesday, December 23, 2025 at Bowers Hospice House in Beckley, West Virginia.

Rachel was born September 14, 1967 in Texas a daughter of the late Samuel Mchgee, and Elaine Edwards Mcghee. She married the love of her life, William Kerns on May 23, 2015 in Beckley, West Virginia.

In addition to her parents Rachel is also preceded in death by one brother Wesley Mcghee.

Rachel was a beautiful soul, she had a giving heart and would always give to anyone who was in need. Rachel loved spending time with her beloved husband, family and friends. She enjoyed watching soap operas in her free time, and enjoyed traveling with her husband in their motor home in her younger years.

Those left behind to forever hold and cherish Rachel's memory are her husband William Kerns, son Logan Tyler Green, brother Matt Mcghee, two nieces Jordan Mcghee and Chloe Mcghee, and many other extended family and friends who will all miss Rachel dearly.

The family would like to thank the nursing staff and doctors at Bowers Hospice House for all of their love, care, and compassion during Rachel's battle. The family would also like to ask that if you feel led to make a memorial donation to Hospice of Southern WV in Rachel's memory.

A Celebration of Life will be held for Rachel on March 1, 2026 at 1:00pm in the Melton Mortuary Chapel. The family will accept friends one hour prior beginning at 12:00 noon. Arrangements are entrusted to Melton Mortuary and Cremation Center who are honored to serve the Kerns family during this difficult time.
