Ramona Gail Harris Obituary

Ramona Gail Dickens-Harris, 66, of Beckley, West Virginia entered into her eternal rest at her home on September 1, 2025, following a long illness. Born on September 6, 1958, she was the daughter of the late Carson Dickens and Erma Viola Dickens.
Ramona was of the Christian faith and a devoted member of Breckenridge Church in Bolt. Ramona's faith, compassion, and love for her family defined her life. Ramona married her loving husband, James Harris, and together they shared 44 years of marriage filled with love and devotion.
Ramona's greatest joy was being a mother. Ramona is survived by her children, Christopher Harris and his wife Cady, Elijah Harris and his partner Bethany Griffith , and daughter Kassie Harris, grandchildren Bentley and Levi Harris. Her children and grandchildren were truly her world, and she cherished every moment with them.
Ramona grew up in Peachtree (Naoma) and was known by all who loved her as a caring, passionate, and giving woman.
Ramona was preceded in death by her parents; siblings Larry Keith Dickens, Carson Lee Dickens, and Brenda Faye Strok; and brothers-in-law Levi Johnson, Harry Lafferty, and Marty Strok.
Left to cherish her memory are her sisters and brother-in-law: Nancy Lafferty of Holly Hills, WV; Nadine and Dale Bane of Oceana, WV; Wanda Mae Johnson of Schiller Park, IL; Debbie and Benny Turner of Fayetteville, WV; and Beverly and Dave Hornkohl of Melrose Park, IL. Ramona also leaves behind a multitude of nieces and nephews who will remember Ramona's kindness and love.
Ramona's legacy of faith, love, and strength will live on in the hearts of her family and friends.
A Memorial Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 11th beginning at 11 AM at Melton Mortuary. The Memorial Service will begin at 12 PM with Pastor Corey Brooks officiating. The family invites all of those who wish to honor Ramona and share stories of love to come out to the service.
