RANDEL LEE RICHMOND was born on February 14, 1952, in Welch, WV to his parents Mirland and Ada (Lester) Richmond.
He departed this world for his Heavenly Home on January 24, 2023 surrounded by his family at Henry Ford Medical Center.
Randel was preceded in death by his parents Mirland and Ada Richmond and sisters Rebecca Cline and Darlene Greene.
Randel is survived by his loving and caring wife of 52 years, Janice (Lester) Richmond. He is also survived by his only child Melissa (Kevin) Dodson and their daughter (Poppy's Pride) Granddaughter, Taylor Alexis Dodson, of Brownstown, MI. And his companion (Abby) dog. He is also survived by one sister Marlene (James) Gibson, two brothers Dale (Susan) Richmond and Mirland (Sherry) Richmond, JR. And a special friend Douglas Vinson.
Randel was a successful and respected businessman in the coal industry, throughout several states. He considered his biggest achievements to be teaching young men how to run a safe and effective coal mine. While in the mining business he made many lifetime friends, that he considered family.
Some of Randel's greatest days were spent at car show, meeting old friends and making new ones and of course showing off his Red Ford Truck. He will be missed by many.
Service will be Tuesday, January 31st, at 1:00 pm at Melton Mortuary and officiated by a very dear friend, Pastor Tom Lusk, friends may call two hours prior to service. Entombment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park in Beckley.
