Ray Swanson Pate, Jr.

Ray Swanson Pate, Jr. was born on May 7, 1975 in Beckley, WV and went to be with the Lord on April 25, 2021 at the young age of 45.

He was the son of Donna and Donald Miller and the late Ray Pate Sr.  Ray is preceded in death by his father Ray pate Sr.; paternal grandparents Claude and Theamie Pate; maternal grandparents Pearl and Paul Watson and Frank Quesenberry; paternal aunt Louise and uncle Frank Perry and uncle William Clinton; sister-in-law Stephanie Miller and loving fiancé Gina Ross.

Those left to cherish his memory are his mother and step-father Donna and Donald Miller of Coal City; sister Karen Pate of Crab Orchard; brother Brian Miller and wife Holly of Beckley; sister Amber Miller of Midway; son Fredric Pate of Coal City; daughter Alica Pate of Midway; daughter Erin Pate of Coal City; 1 granddaughter Fae Pate of Midway; nieces Mekiala and Tessa Miller of Flatwoods and Taylor, Ariana and Kaylnn Miller of Beckley; aunts, uncles, cousins and friends who will miss him dearly.

He loved spending time with his friends, fishing, camping, and watching dirt racing.  He was a loyal friend.

A funeral service celebrating Ray’s life will be held at 1:00 pm on Thursday, April 29, 2021 at the Melton Mortuary and Cremation Center Chapel.  The family will receive friends for visitation two hours prior from 11 am – 1 pm.  Interment will follow services at the Davis Cemetery in Maple Fork where Ray will be laid to rest by pallbearers Fredric Pate, Brian Miller, Robert Ruth, Michael Ruth, Billy Clinton, and Joey Carter.  Words of comfort may be offered to the family by visiting www.meltonmortuary.com
