Dr. Richard "Dick" Richmond passed away peacefully on May 28, 2023, at the age of 89, at Greystone Assisted Living in Beckley, WV. He was born on March 26,1934 in Beckley, WV, to his parents, and he was a beloved husband to Sallie.

Dr. Richmond was a successful ophthalmologist, having worked at Beckley Medical Arts for nearly 40 years. He was highly regarded by his colleagues and patients alike. His cousin Jim Smith and his mother also worked in his office. Dr. Richmond was also the president of RCMS for one year.

Outside of his career, Dr. Richmond was an avid sports lover and enjoyed playing golf, tennis, skiing, and bowling. He was also involved in the stock market and followed it closely.

Dr. Richmond was a family man who cherished spending time with his loved ones. He is survived by his wife, Sallie, his daughter Elizabeth Phillips, and her family, including Nathan Mason and Caraline, his son Jon and his family Kaden and Riley as well as his brother-in-law Parke Johnson and Mary Grace. He also had several cousins.

Dr. Richmond received his primary education at Institute Elementary in Beckley, WV, and graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School in Beckley, WV. He went on to attend optometry school and later medical school at WVU.

A private family ceremony will be held on June 8, 2023, to honor Dr. Richmond's life and legacy. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him
