Obituary
Rickey R. Green was born on December 10th, 1953 in Mullens, West Virginia to his parents Homer G. Green and Maxine Louisa Green (Worley). He passed away on April 22nd, 2023 in Morgantown, West Virginia at the young age of 69.
Rickey is preceded in death by his parents Homer and Maxine Green and his sister Judy Cartwright. He leaves behind to cherish his memory include his wife of over 30 years, Darlita K. Green ; sons Doug (Antoinette) Green, Richard (Lisa) Green, and Jason Green; daughters Lora Green and Kelly Green; grandchildren Christopher, Kaiden, Chrystal, Mikey, Caylee, Ava, Brianna, Jaydren, and Aiden; sister Primadonna Cirilla; and his fur-baby Maddy. He also leaves behind a host of extended family and friends who will miss him dearly.
Rickey was an amazing, funny, fun, hardworking, and loving husband and father. He loved fishing and camping.
Rickey attended Woodrow Wilson High School and graduated in 1972. He soon enlisted with the US Army Reserves and later on in 1975 began mining with Maple Meadow Mining and Slab Fork. He continued his mining career with Alpha Natural Resources until his retirement in 2016. After retirement he spent a lot of time outdoors boating and fishing with family.
Rickey's request was to have no funeral services. Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to Melton Mortuary and Cremation Center. Words of comfort and condolences may be offered to the family by visiting www.meltonmortuary.com
