Rickey Rakes Obituary
Rickey Rakes, age 58, of Beckley, West Virginia, passed away on Sunday, January 15, 2023 at Beckley ARH in Beckley, West Virginia.
Rickey was born May 18, 1964 in Ranger, West Virginia, a son of Andrew and Mary Rakes . He married the love of his life, Sue Ann Bailey-Rakes on February 03, 1990 in Logan WV. In addition to his parents Ricky is also preceded in death by his brother Robert.
Those left behind to cherish and forever hold his memory close to their hearts are his loving wife of 32 years Sue Ann, brothers, Randy, Tim, Adam, Ted, and Steve, sisters Amy, Sally, Kathy, and Rinda, and many other extended family and friends who will all miss Rickey dearly.
Ricky was a baseball fanatic, always watching games and collecting baseball cards, he always rooted for his favorite team the Cincinatti Reds, no matter the win or loss. He enjoyed God's beauty in the outdoors by fishing as well. He was a graduate of Marshall University obtaining a bachelors of Science and was a science and math teacher in the Logan area for many years.
In accordance with Rickey's wishes cremation arrangements have been entrusted to Melton Mortuary and Cremation Center, and there will be no formal memorial service scheduled.
