Ricky Lane Ward

 Ricky Lane Ward, 58, joined his brothers in heaven on June 4, 2020.  The day of he and Pat’s 18th wedding anniversary, after a long hard fought battle with cancer.  Ricky was born in Cleveland, Ohio on June 20, 1961 to parents Julian and Margaret (Ruff) Ward.

After battling cancer for several months, Ricky put his faith in God and was saved.  Ricky will be missed by many.

Ricky loved walking along the beach with Pat to find and collect sharks’ teeth.  They always had a little competition going on to see who could find the biggest and most teeth.  Ricky loved his family, but Pat and all his grandchildren were his life.  Ricky liked building things and was extremely good at it.  There wasn’t anything he couldn’t do.

Ricky was preceded in death by his parents Julian and Margaret Ward.  Three brothers: Julian (Jabo Ward, Kenneth (Yogi) Ward and Roger Dale Ward.  Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 18 years Patricia (Pat) Ward of Oak Hill, daughter Jessica Ward-Burnett of Oak Hill, son Ricky Ward of Warren, Ohio, stepsons Keith (Amy) Bragg of Oak Hill, Steven Bragg of Harvey WV and Patrick (Heather) Bragg of Dayton, Ohio.  Grandchildren:  Braydon and Kayson Burnett, Tristan, Erica, Casey, Jaxson Bragg and Marley.  Brother:  Gene (Mary Ann) Ward of Oak Hill, Jimmy (Georgina) Ward of Salem, Va, Jessie (Debbie) Ward of Oak Hill, Sisters:  Lana Elder Coleman of Oak Hill, Cathy Hayes of Oak Hill, Patty (J.R) Posey of Beckley and a host of nieces and nephews.

Services will be July 18, 2020 at Pat and Ricky’s home at 200 Johnson St. Oak Hill WV starting at 11am.
