Robert John "Bob" Hebert, 87, of Beckley, West Virginia, passed away peacefully on September 8, 2025. Born on October 9, 1937, in Chicago, Illinois, Bob's life was defined by his generous spirit, quick wit, and unwavering commitment to those around him.
Bob proudly served his country with honor for 22 years in the United States Air Force, achieving the esteemed rank of Master Sergeant. His career carried him to far-reaching corners of the globe and instilled in him a deep love of travel-especially to Japan, a country that held a special place in his heart and where he adopted his two beloved children.
Upon retiring from military service, Bob settled into civilian life as a small business owner, founding Abear Resources, Inc. His work supported various federal agencies and exemplified the same dedication and integrity that marked his military career.
Above all, Bob will be remembered for his incredible sense of humor; he never met a stranger and brought joy to all who knew him. He was renowned for his kindness and selflessness, and for loving his family unconditionally. A devout Chicago Bears fan, Bob loved sharing game days with family and friends and was always eager for his next adventure abroad.
Bob was a proud member of both the Veterans of Foreign War (VFW) and the American Veterans (AMVETS), contributing his time and camaraderie to support his fellow service members.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Mary Hebert; his brothers, William, Timothy, and Kenneth; his wife, Helen Hebert; and his son, Bobby Hebert. He is survived by his loving daughter, Mary "Martie" Miracle, who brought him immeasurable pride and joy.
Bob's legacy of laughter, generosity, and steadfast love will endure in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know him.
