Robert 'Bob' Lee Moseley, age 84, of Beckley, West Virginia, passed away Monday, December 2, 2024, at his home.
"Bob" as he was affectionately known, was born April 13, 1940, in Ravencliff, West Virginia, a son of William and Pansey (Pinson) Moseley. He is the last survivor of his immediate family.
He spent his early years at Ravencliff, graduating from Glen Rogers High School, Class of 1958, where he was active in high school sports and proud to be a "Glen Rogers Owl." Bob immensely enjoyed going to the Glen Rogers High School reunions and reconnecting with childhood friends.
A retired school teacher, Coach Mosely spent years teaching at Woodrow Wilson High School where he mentored many students especially in track and field. Bob will be remembered as a very pleasant individual who loved to recall his teaching and coaching days at Woodrow. You never saw Bob without his hat. After retiring, he took a keen interest in local road races, volunteering his time in the early days of the Raleigh County Road Runners Association.
Bob's father lived a long life and he was very involved in his father's final years of care. He also enjoyed the billiards.
Bob is survived by his nephew James G. Johnson and his wife Juanita of Cool Ridge; great-nephews Nicholas Johnson and his wife Sarah of Cool Ridge, Daniel Johnson of Cool Ridge, Ryan Johnson, great-niece Emily Johnson of Cool Ridge, niece Cheryl Morales and her husband Nelson, great-nieces Katelyn Morales and Megan Morales all of Buford, GA, nephew Kenneth Harold Moseley, Jr. and his wife Angie, great-nephew Nickolas Moseley, great-niece Sarah Maginniss of Chattanooga, TN, nephew Tom Moseley and his wife Patricia of Beckley, great-niece Kirsten Moseley-Smith and her husband Garrett of Jumping Branch, great niece Tiffany Moseley of Beckley; siblings, James Moseley and his wife Andrea of Bristol TN and Carol Johnson of Beckley; and many friends who will miss him.
