Roy Addison Jarrell, Sr.

Roy Addison Jarrell Sr., 79, entered his heavenly home, Friday, December 31, 2021.  Roy was born August 19, 1942 in Belle, WV.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Addison Height Jarrell and Virgie Ellen (Stover) Jarrell; brothers Danny Wayne Jarrell, Dave Warren Jarrell; sisters Bunny Sue (Jarrell) Shrewsbury, Phyllis Jean Jarrell; and great-granddaughter Angel Michelle Bailey.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 58 years, Garnet (Joni Manning) Jarrell; brother Donald Jarrell (Debra) of Elkton, MD; children Roy Jarrell Jr. (Christina) of Lewisburg, James Jarrell (Tammy) of Cool Ridge, Lori Jarrell Grose (Tim) of Canvas, and Lisa Jarrell Price (Chris) of Eustice, Fl.  A host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren, cherished friends and neighbor, Etta Brehm and Jake Marcum as well as many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends that he loved and adored.

Roy grew up in Witcher Creek, WV and later served in the U.S. Army.  He attended Bethel Freewill Baptist Church for many years.  He loved to bowl, fish and watch golf.  He was an insurance adjuster for Consolidated Claims and Jarrell Claim Service.  He was devoted to his wife and family.  Roy had a beautiful bass voice and loved to sing. He always had a kind and generous spirit.

Roy is no longer in pain and is in Heaven celebrating with all his family that he so sorely missed.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 8, 2022 at Melton Mortuary in Beckley with Pastor Scott Lester officiating.  Visitation will be from 11am-1pm. Service will be from 1pm-1:30pm.  Burial will follow in Blue Ridge Cemetery.  Family will serve as Pallbearers. Friends and family welcome.
