Samuel Olen Williams, Jr.

Samuel "Sammy" O. Williams, Jr., 69, of Harper Heights, WV, passed away Tuesday, August 8, 2023, at his home. Born on April 24, 1954 in Beckley, WV, he was the son of the late Samuel O. and Kathleen Crouch Williams.

Sammy was a 1972 graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School and served with the US Navy. Coming from a musical family, he enjoyed playing music, and played in several bands in the 70's and 80's. He loved woodworking and growing a garden.

Along with his parents, he is also preceded in death by his brother Tommy Williams and his granddaughter Piper Jayde Kessler.

He is survived by his loving wife Elisha Williams; children Samuel Marcus Williams, Jr., and his wife Theresa of Darien, Georgia, Kathy Malinowski and her husband Chris of Port Saint Lucie, Florida, T.J. Williams of Vero Beach, Florida, Jeremiah Williams and wife Carolyn of Ambrose, Georgia, Austin Gunter and his wife Nicole of Beckley, WV, Amy Jo Kessler and her husband Jonathan "Boo" Kessler of Fayetteville, WV, and Angel Dunn and her companion Tyler of Beckley, WV; sisters Jeannie Gonzalez and her husband Ross of Piney View, WV, and Debi Dolin and her husband Arthur of Beckley, WV; brothers Mike Williams and wife Debbie of Mabscott, WV, Jack Williams and his companion Teresa of Beckley, WV, and Dustin Williams of Beckley, WV; 12 grandchildren; and 4 great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind his beloved dog Brownie, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 26, 2023, at 2 p.m., at the Family Worship Center, 224 Pinewood Drive, Beckley, WV. Melton Mortuary and Cremation Center has been entrusted with cremation arrangements and are honored to serve the family.
