On Friday, October 27th, 2023, our most cherished Sandy Pennington passed into eternity at the age of 81.
The eldest of five children, Sandra Lenora Pennington was born on January 28th, 1941, the daughter of the late Newton Arlin Pennington Sr., and Mabel Elizabeth Lilly Pennington. Sandy is a descendant of the Pittman family, one of the pioneer families in the Beaver community. A lifelong resident of the area, she was a 1961 graduate of Shady Spring High School, where she was a majorette and will be remembered for being one of the school beauties. Sandy worked in the dental hygienist field and hotel management. She loved all creatures great and small. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a sister, Janice Bailey and her brother, Gilbert Lee Pennington.
Sandy is the dear sister of Newton Arlin "NA" Pennington Jr. and his wife, Phyllis and Elenora Elam (the late Bill Elam) and the fond sister-in- law of Peggy Pennington all of Beaver. There is a large extended family of nieces and nephews as well as good friends, Tammy Campbell Cline and Connie Wriston.
There will be a graveside service today, Thursday, November 2nd at 3:00pm at the Beaver Community Cemetery where Sandy will be laid to rest beside her parents. The Rev. Delvin Elwell will be officiating. Those attending are asked to be at the cemetery by 3:00pm
