Shirley Temple Garrison

Our beloved mother, Shirley Temple Burns Garrison, 86,of Beckley WV, gained her wings on March 16th, 2023 at Beckley Regional Hospital. Shirley was born on March 11th, 1937 in Fayette Station, Fayetteville WV to the late
George Burns and Roxie Griffith. Shirley was a retired CNA at Green Acres nursing home in Fayetteville WV where she loved taking care of her patients. She was of the Baptist Faith. She enjoyed playing bingo and when she was younger, she loved playing horseshoes with her children. The best thing that she enjoyed was quilting which she had done for many years.
In addition to her parents, Shirley was preceded in death by her son, Christopher Michael Garrison, her daughter, Joyce Ann Wilson, granddaughter Amanda Garrison, 5 sisters, Jerry Palmer, Ellen Jean Elmore, Diane Beaver, Sue Carol Burns and Connie Griffith. 3 brothers, Jimmy Burns, Roy Griffith and Otha Ward. 2 son- in- laws, John Wilson, Guy Boreman , a daughter- in- law Tammy Garrison and brother-in-laws, Danny Palmer, Dale Adkins, Gary Beaver.
Those left to Cherish her memory include Beverly Fleetwood (Johnathan) of Scarbro, Linda Whaples (Gary) of Oak Hill, Timothy Garrison (Martha) of Sanger, Debbie Garrison (Pam) of Oak Hill, George Garrison (Christina) of Pax, Earnest Garrison of Beckley, Barbara Seagle (Mike) of North Carolina and Jack Garrison of Beckley. Shirley also leaves behind 29 grandchildren and 33 great grandchildren.
2 very special grandsons whom she cared for as her own, Dwayne Childers (Hollie) from Mississippi, Charles Childers (Mary) from Florida and a very special niece, Barbara Meadows from Charleston whom she loved as a daughter.
Surviving siblings include, Nancy Pachuta (Bob) from Beckley, Bonnie Burns from Oak Hill, Terry Adkins from Harvey, Debbie Martin from Oak hill, Bob Burns from Prudence, Timmy Griffith from Prudence, Greg Griffith from Mount Hope, numerous nieces, nephews and friends whom she loved.
Shirley Had her 4 fur babies that she loved with her whole heart, Angel, Patches, Toby Keith and PJ.
With Her love for animals, the family ask that any donations be sent to the Raleigh County Humane Society. Her children would like to thank all the Nurses and Dr's in the ICU at BAR H for taking the best care of their mother and a special thank you to her Doctor Richard Wisman of Beckley and also a big thank you to Hidden Valley nursing home team for taking such good care of her while she was there on numerous occasions.
Shirley's wishes were to be cremated and laid to rest with her son, Christopher, at Gethsemane Memorial Gardens in Sanger WV.
