Shirley Ward Swaney of Beckley, West Virginia passed on November 14, 2024 at BARH. Born at Prosperity WV on September 18, 1936 to the late Beulah Ward, and Claude Swaney.

She had a deep love for animals; saving many homeless, stray, and unwanted critters.

The family would like to thank all of the caregivers at Pine Lodge for their love and kindness they showed Shirley during her stay.

A graveside service will take place at the Musick Family Cemetery located at 2103 Bolt Road Fairdale, West Virginia, on Wednesday November 20th, 2024 at 4pm with Rev Doc Adkins officiating. In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorial donations be made to the Raleigh County Animal Shelter in Shirley's honor.
