Stephanie Louise Herald, age 57, of Beckley, West Virginia, passed away on Friday, October 10, 2025 after a battle with illness.

Stephanie was born March 18, 1968 in Princeton, West Virginia, a daughter of Thomas "Greg" and Wanda Powers.

Stephanie was of the Baptist faith. She attended Lilly Grove Baptist in Princeton before she moved away.

Stephanie graduated from Princeton High School with honors and went on to earn her Bachelors in Psychology. She built her career and became a Rehabilitation Specialist for Kanawha Institute of Social Research and Action. This allowed her to spend time helping the community, giving them ways to return and build their lives anew.

Stephanie was an avid reader. Her favorite author was Stephen King. She read many of his novels. Her love for his work was so deep, she took several trips to visit the Stephen King Estate in Bangor, Maine. She loved it so much, her family was afraid she may never leave.

Stephanie loved her family. She was a caring mother who loved her children and did her best for them.

Stephanie is preceded in death by her father, Greg Powers.

Stephanie is survived by her mother, Wanda Powers; daughter, Brittany Hicks; son, William "Will" (Abby) Herald; grandchildren; Sydney Wiley, Jayce Hicks, and Corey Herald; brother, Adam (Brittany) Powers; and many family members and friends who loved her.
