Steven Morgan Obituary

Steven Daryl Morgan (Steve), of Lower Sandlick Road, Beckley, WV  passed away November 24, 2021, at his home. He fought a very long, hard fight with a condition that few people have experienced. He was a living miracle in more ways than anyone could ever imagine. He survived so many things that any lesser of a man would have fallen victim to, and yet he took it all on the chin and kept moving.

Steve was one of the strongest fighters ever known and will ever know. He stood up for his beliefs with ruthless passion, and he stood up for his family and loved ones with unfaltering love. You couldn’t keep him down, even in the hardest 2 years of his life he chose to continue to fight. He didn’t have to, but he did, he chose to continue to fight knowing it was going to be the absolute hardest thing he would ever have to stand face to face with.

Although he hated every second he couldn’t be his normal self, he still found the strength and the desire to live within to keep pushing forward. He even found enough peace to smile and laugh. He loved his family and his home here Sandlick with all of his heart and every ounce of his being. He grew up here and he closed his story here. And even in his passing he still has just as much, if not more love for his family than ever before.

n death we are all filled with regrets, sometimes the regrets overpower any good memories we have, but eventually, the regret will fade and we will be left with only the memories that warm us in the coldest hours and shine a light in our darkest. There is never enough time with our loved ones, even in a million years.  . He was just so tired. Even the strongest warrior has to sleep.

Steve was preceded in death by his Mom, Bonnie Hatfield Morgan, his Dad, Graydon Oscar Morgan, a sister, Julie Bessie Morgan, and a grandson, Graydon Neil Morgan, whom he loved dearly.   He is survived by his loving wife, Lora Sue Morgan, and four sons, Adam Christopher Morgan, Steven Scott Morgan, Zachary Tyler Morgan, and Ethan Owen Morgan, all of Lower all of Beckley, West Virginia, and a daughter, Jennifer McDonald of Beckley, WV  sisters Angela Vickers, Stephanie Morgan, and Glenna Rollins, and husband Jonathan D. Rollins; nephews; Franklin Vickers, Joshua Morgan, Jordan Morgan, Jonathan Rollins, III, and Nathaniel Rollins, and a great-nephew Graydon H. Morgan,  as well as his wife’s family, the Cooks, whom he loved dearly and who loved him dearly, especially his father and mother-in-law, John and Wanda Cook.  John called Steve his best friend.

Steve found his peace. And he was ready to go. We love you, Steve, forever, and will miss you until we no longer have to.
