Sue Ellen Ward Hodges age 74 of Beckley passed away on Monday, September 30th, 2024. She was born May 25th, 1950 in Beckley, West Virginia.

She was the only child of the late William Ward of Beaver, WV, and Charless Daniels Falk of Prosperity, WV.

Mrs Hodges was of the Baptist Faith. She enjoyed being a homemaker, mom, and grandma. Sue loved attending school, and sport programs, family gatherings, movies, music, and sitting on a front porch in the summertime with family. Mrs. Hodges was a graduate of Beckley Institute of Hair Design. She worked as a beautician at Jessie's beauty shop in downtown Beckley in her early years, also in housekeeping at Comfort Inn, and RGH, the bakery at Food-4-Less, and Wal-mart.

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandmother Ellen Acord Daniels of Mac-Arthur, an aunt Anna, and uncle Frank Daniels of Whitesville, a step-father Jim Falk Sr. of Del-Barton. Survivors include her husband of 58 years Ronald Lee Hodges, two sons Ronnie Hodges of Raleigh, Richard Hodges and wife Tara of Shady Spring, a daughter Rhonda Hodges Burleson of Sophia, Bill and Jasmine of Crab Orchard, grandchildren Whitney Hodges, Brandon Hodges, Brianna, Cameron, and Cami, and Tristan Hodges, Landon and William Burleson III. She had seven great grandchildren she loved very much, and a special great granddaughter thats close to her heart Dani. Nephews Grant Plumley and McKenzie of Sevierville TN, and Christopher Follrod of Huntington, WV, and many other extended family and friends, and beloved pets.

A celebration of life will take place for Sue on Friday October 11, 2024 at 1:00pm in the Melton Mortuary Chapel with Reverend Dewey Lowe officiating. Friends may visit one hour prior to the service at 12:00 noon. Mrs. Hodges will be cremated according to her wishes.
