Born on July 7, 1934, in Glen Daniel, WV, to Ott Mayo and Garnet Pearl Hutchinson Callaway. His grandparents were John Edward and Mary Willie Preas Callaway and George Andrew and Carrie Mae Tolley Hutchinson.
