Tammy Kay Bowyer Obituary

This past Monday, May 5th, 2025 our most cherished Tammy Kay Wilkerson Bowyer, left her loved ones here on earth and joined her husband the love of her life, Keith "Pete" Bowyer.
For Tammy it was her time. As the poem goes, "...Time is too long for those who grieve, but those who love, time is eternity." And now our sweet Tammy has gone to her eternal rest.
One of five children, Tammy Kay was born on a Thursday, November 21st, 1957. Her parents were the late Spurgeon and Elsie Wilkerson. Her sister, Patty Davis and her son n law Doug Deal has preceded her in death as well.
A life- long resident of the Maple Fork/ Cirtsville communities, Tammy was a devoted wife and stay at home Mother. She loved her husband and children. When her grandchildren came Tammy was the doting grandmother, the sun rising and setting in each one them. Family was everything.
Tammy was joyful, loved to make people laugh, she had a unique wit. She enjoyed chatting with her friends, playing games on- line and watching the races. And was she ever, a diehard fan of Conway Twitty!
On January 9th, 2021, when her beloved Pete passed we all saw a change in Tammy and "Time became too long." She had been with Pete since the age of 14. Life became a struggle. Tammy just never got over Pete's untimely passing. It just wasn't meant to be. Conway Twitty's song, "After All the Good is Gone" says it best, " .....Lord, I wish I could die and there's no use in tryin' to keep hangin' on after all the good is gone..." That was Tammy Bowyer.
Left to cherish her memory are her beloved children, Amy Dawn Deal (and the late Doug Deal) and Jeremy Keith Bowyer; she was the proud grandmother of Zachary Bowyer and Bethany and Lane Deal. She also leaves behind her step-grandson Cody (Alison) Deal and his daughter Addy; Tammy was the fond sister Sandy Vass, Cheryl Scarbro, and Butch Painter; there's a special daughter, Crystal Hypes-Bowyer and special nephew, Joe Michael Voloski. In addition to her nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends, Tammy leaves behind her beloved dogs, Gizmo, Zoey, Annie Jo, and Paisley.
A Service of Remembrance will be held in the Melton Mortuary Chapel on Tuesday, May 13, 2025, at 7 p.m. Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. until time of service. Family friend, Reverend James Paul Chapman will be officiating.
And so, let us remember.....But for those who love, time is eternity.....
