Teddy Ray Jarrell a native of Stickney, in later years a resident of Beckley, has died at the age of 67 on March 21st, 2021 following a very brave battle with cancer.
Born in Beckley on May 14th, 1953, he was the son of the late Earl and Norma Clay Jarrell. One of twelve children, Teddy was preceded in death by his brothers, Ricky and Jody and a sister, Sally Webb.
Teddy spent of his adult life working as a coal miner until retirement. He was a veteran of the US Army. An avid fisherman, hunter, bowler and car enthusiast, some of his best days were spent sitting on a bank or boat fishing. Teddy was famous for his generosity. The list is endless of all the lives he touched. Friends and family meant the world to him. He will be greatly missed by everyone who was lucky enough to meet him.
Teddy leaves his son, Nick Jarrell and Kristina and granddaughter, Parker Jarrell, of Beckley; in addition to his son, he is survived by his brothers, Jerry (Mary) Jarrell, Ralph (Glenna) Jarrell, Curt Jarrell, Gary (Joanna) Jarrell and sisters, Brenda Spencer (Bill), Teresa Jarrell Vipperman, Annette Blair, and Charlotte Jarrell. There is a large extended family of nieces and nephews.
Family and friends may call on Wednesday, March 24th from 5 to 7pm at the Melton Mortuary. There will be a service at 7:00pm officiated by his childhood friend, Rev. Wayne Peters. The burial will be private at a later time.
