Thomas "Tom" Houston Settle, age 72, of Crab Orchard, West Virginia, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, June 24, 2025.

He was born September 4, 1952 in Oakhill, West Virginia, a son of Ralph Settle and Madelyn Newman.

Tom was a retired Air Force Veteran, serving his country for 20 years as a Fuel Specialist, Environmental Health Specialist, and a Recruiter. He was well respected and loved by his friends and all that knew him. He will be deeply missed.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Rosemary Settle and Regina Newman; and a brother, Randy Newman.

Tom is survived by his brothers, Thaddeus "Thad" (Iris) Settle and Paul (Cathy) Newman; a nephew, Robbie Settle; and many friends and neighbors who he enjoyed spending time with.

A Celebration of Life Service honoring Tom's life will be held on Saturday, October 18th at Melton Mortuary. The Memorial Visitation will begin at 12 pm and go until the Celebration of Life Service begins at 1 pm. Military Honors will follow the conclusion of the service to Honor Tom's military service. All those who wish to honor Tom and support the family are invited to attend.
