Thurman "Ted" Shepherd, age 63, of Gap Mills, West Virginia, passed away Wednesday, April 16, 2025.

He was born March 3, 1962 in Princeton, West Virginia, a son of Carlos and Betty Ann Shepherd. Ted married his wife, Meredith, on June 2, 1998 and spent many years together before his passing.

Ted was a man of faith. He was a devout Baptist for many years.

He spent most of his working life as a trucker. Ted enjoyed the time he spent on the road. He loved to travel. He was a big Cincinnati Red's fan. He enjoyed supporting his team when game days came around. Ted liked animals; he had a variety of pets in his life.

Ted was preceded in death by his parents and mother-in-law, Jeanie Toney.

He is survived by his wife, Meredith Shepherd; son, Zachary Shepherd of Midway, WV; daughter, Lauren (Caleb) Bostic of Union, WV; special father-in-law, Oran D. Toney; sisters, Charlotte (Ralph) Shepperd of Callahan, FL and Christie (Mike) Reed of Princeton, WV; nieces, Kerri (Joe) Pickett of Callahan, FL and Karla (Scott) Guess of Jacksonville, FL; nephew, Aaron (Tracy) Reed of Graham, NC; and granddaughters, Briella and Lorelai.

In accordance with his wishes, Ted will be cremated and a Celebration of his Life will be held at a later date.
