Vickie Louise Ellis

Vickie Louise Barr Ellis was born on May 18, 1953 in Beckley, West Virginia to her late parents Archie Dale Barr and Reva June (Cook) Booth.  She peacefully went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Thursday, November 4, 2021 in Beckley, West Virginia at the age of 68.

Vickie is preceded in death by her parents Archie and Reva and an infant sister.  She leaves behind to cherish her memory her children Berman “Chuck” (Sharon) Cornett, II; Tiffani Nicole (Shannon) Spicer; grandchildren Madison and Dylan Cornett, and Dalton Spicer; sisters Cheryl Stauder of Melvindale, MI and Theresa Barr (Leonard) Samborski of Riverview, MI; her very special cousin she reconnected with after 52 years of living on opposite ends of the country, Timothy Strem; her fur baby Allie; and many extended family and friends who will miss her dearly.

Vickie was born in Beckley and grew up in suburbs of Detroit where she lived for the first 19 years of her life.  She moved back to Beckley after she met and married her first husband with whom she had two children.  Vickie worked as a homemaker for many years. She also worked in accounting / bookkeeping as well as accounts/ receivables in several local businesses. More than anything she loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. Vickie enjoyed reading, cross-stitching, knitting, painting, gardening and listening to music. 

A memorial service celebrating Vickie’s life will be held on Monday, November 8, 2021 at 4:00 pm at Melton Mortuary and Cremation Center.  The family will receive friends for visitation one hour prior.  Words of comfort may be offered to the family by visiting www.meltonmortuary.com
