Wavie "Gail" Grick, age 71, of Beckley, West Virginia, passed away after a long battle with illness on Sunday, August 3, 2025.
She was born November 11, 1953 in Beckley, West Virginia, a daughter of James and Laura Helen Pettry. Gail married the love of her life, Edward "Ed" Albert Grick, and they spent a wonderful 32 years together before her passing.
Gail graduated from Trap Hill High School in Glen Daniel. After high school, She spent time taking care of her son, Franklin Acord, before moving her family to Pennsylvania and beginning her career as a Customer Service Representative at M & T Bank. Gail met and married Ed and they moved back to West Virginia. Together, they had their daughter, Georgia Grick, and spent their time raising her. Gail was a devoted mother. She loved taking care of her family. Gail spent her free time baking and enjoyed trying new recipes. Her family loved her dearly and her loss is greatly felt.
She is preceded in death by her parents and sister, Deborah Stewart.
Those left to cherish her memories are her husband, Edward Albert Grick; son, Franklin Acord; daughter, Georgia Grick; grandchildren, James Acord and Bryan Harper; and many nieces, nephew, and friends who will miss her dearly.
In honor of Gail's wishes, she will be cremated. A memorial to honor her may be held at a later date.
