Weldon Middleton Nesmith was born on April 9, 1943 in Horse Creek, Naoma, WV to the late Arnold
and Ruby (Crider) Nesmith. He passed away on September 24, 2020 in Charleston, West Virginia with
his family by his side at the age of 77.
Weldon is preceded in death by his parents; brother Arthur Nesmith and uncle, Clifford Crider. He
leaves behind to cherish his memory, his loving wife of 56 years, Joanne Meadows Nesmith; son Sandy
(Angie) Nesmith of Shady Spring; grandchildren; Tori (Donovan) Rucker of Cary, NC. and Tristen Nesmith
of Shady Spring, WV; sister, Ginger Nesmith of Dry Creek, WV and aunt Dot Crider of Mt Jackson, Va.
Weldon was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend. He was a 1961 graduate of
Marsh Fork High School and attended West Virginia University in Morgantown, WV. He retired from
Bethlehem ENERGY after 30 years of service. Weldon was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting,
fishing and spending time with his family.
The family would like to send a heartfelt thank you to special friends John and Karen Wojcik, Gary and
Patty Quarles, Mike and Melanie Harris, Jake and Bev Maynard and Roger Taylor. Their support during
the last year was greatly appreciated.
Weldon has been cremated and his remains will be scattered in accordance to his wishes. There will be
no services. Melton Mortuary and Cremation Center has the honor of serving the family. Online condolences may
