William "Skip" Warner Stanley II
November 3, 1951 - December 29, 2025
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of William "Skip" Warner Stanley II of Piney View, WV on Monday, December 29, 2025, following a brief illness.
After graduating from Woodrow Wilson High School in 1969, Skip received a degree in Science Aviation from Salem-Teikyo University in Salem, WV. A man of many talents, he worked at his family's business, became a pilot, a businessman, an entrepreneur, a mechanic, and an avid car collector.
Skip held a deep love and passion for Mopar. His life revolved around American muscle and the roar of a V8 engine. He was a true enthusiast whose heart beat in time with a 426 Hemi. He could often be found in the garage, meticulously restoring a car and sharing stories and knowledge with anyone who stopped by. He was a familiar face at many car shows, and was known for his vast technical knowledge and generous spirit. He instilled a love of wrenching and classic cars in his children and grandchildren, passing on a legacy of grease under the fingernails and the smell of high octane fuel.
Skip is preceded in death by his parents William Warner and Ada Louise Stanley, and brothers Clyde and Larry Stanley.
Skip is survived by his loving wife of 53 years Nancy; his daughter, Paula Adkins (Scotty) of Piney View, WV; his son, William Stanley III (Tiffany) of Salem, VA; granddaughters Alexa, Olivia, Eva, and Alora; and many special lifelong friends.
A service to honor and celebrate Skip's life will be held at Melton's Mortuary on January 11, 2026 at 1:00 PM by Rev. Jim Bragg. Friends and family may visit from 11:00 - 1:00. Burial will follow the service at Sunset Memorial Park.
